Hiding a specific file type

Hi,

does anybody know if it is possible to hide files with a spefic type (i.e. .pyc). I know that it's possible to set which file types you want to show but since I would like to hide only files with one extension, it would be easier to specify this extension than to specify all possible extension that I do want to see.

*.*|*.pyc

The part after | is excluded from search/view
