Access violation while reconnecting to a network drive

Hi,
TC6.53 registered on winXP sp2 runs into an Access Violation error when I click on a folder tab that points to a directory on a network drive for which I haven't re-entered the password after a reboot.
Will this be fixed in v6.54?

Please provide us more information about your network, because i cannot confirm the error. Maybe you are using a different network, like samba?

In addition it would be necessary to know the address of Access Violation to decide if it's a TC error or maybe some plugin.

Please give us more details. I cannot reproduce this either. When I click on such a tab on XP SP2, I get a Windows dialog box to enter user name and password. If I click cancel, I get a "drive not found" error. If I enter user name and password, I can access the share without problems. What exactly did you try to do?

Hi,
we have a Samba file server here on Linux (don't know which distrib, I don't now what Samba version, tomorrow I can ask our sysadm)

When I boot my laptop and plug in the Ethernet cable, I ***SOMETIMES*** get this access vio error. Generally, when then the network connection is still building up, and I click on a my folder tab that points to a dir on the Samba server. Then I am asked to enter the username + password and
then I get the error.

I couldn't reproduce the error right now, either, so next time it'll occur I'll provide you with more details.

Hi again,
Since my last post the same error happened three times.
This is what I did: Booted WinXP, plugged in network cable after login, TotalCmd starts automatically. I clicked on a Tab in the RIGHT side panel for G: which is a network dirve poining to a Samba server \\hostname\sharename, entered username and correct password. The files on the remote drive were shown. THEN I clicked on another tab (local dir like C:\a.Z\b.Q\fff, just to show that I have extensions in directory names), then I got the message below. I would also like to mention that I had approx. 12 locked tab and 3 unlocked ones.

The error message was:
Access violation at address 0043A8A3. Read of address 00000048.
Please report this error to the Author, ...
Coninue execution? Y/N

Another exception in the past was
External exception C000001D
Please report this error to the Author, ...
Coninue execution? Y/N

Thanks for the details. Do you get this only with samba, or also with peer to peer Windows machines? If only with Samba, what version of Samba?

Hi! We use Samba 3.0.12a on SusE. The error has not occured with Windows shares, but this says little because I almost never reconnect to Windows shares. I also have to mention that I often boot up to a hibernated state of XP.

Sorry I mistyped it, it is Samba 3.0.2a on SusE.
