How to copy peferences

Post by *Thany »

I just copied the whole totalcmd folder from one PC to another, but on the target PC, totalcmd reverts back to its original options. Like wincmd.ini isn't there. But in fact, it is there, because it sits neatly in the totalcmd folder... The source and target folders have the same name, e.g. C:\Program Files\totalcmd versus C:\Program Files\totalcmd, so it couldn't be looking in the wrong/nonexisting folder.

What's going on??

On the old PC, there is a setting for TC in the registry to tell it to look in its own folder. On the new computer the setting is probably absent.

Four possibilities:
- edit the setting in (IIRC) HKCU\Software\Ghisler manually
- reinstall TC on the new computer, and set the option to use the wincmd.ini in TC's dir
- use IniReloc from http://www.ghisler.com/
- add UseIniInProgramDir=7 under [Configuration] in wincmd.ini

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
