Use right mouse button (as in NC)
Using the latest TC under XP Pro -
I have the right mouse button set as NC (Configuration>Options>Operation)
When I use the right button to select files, sometimes it doesn't give me enough time to select and it opens the Windows Pop Up Window. What I like to know is, is there a way to set a time delay on this?
Also, shouldn't NC be changed to TC? I think NC stands for Norton Commander, but this goes way back in time. Just curious on the feedback on this one.
Thanks,
TC

AFAIK there is no option to set the delay.

This setting goes back to the time of NC and simply points to the different behavior of Windows. So I think it is the correct expression. Also, shouldn't NC be changed to TC? I think NC stands for Norton Commander, but this goes way back in time. Just curious on the feedback on this one.

Hi Lefteous:
Try this please: Pick one file only, and hold down the right mouse button. Does a window pop up right away? If on the other hand, you highlighted two or more files, the pop up window doesn't appear.
Sometimes I'm thinking on what to highlight, and have just highlighted only one file, then that's when the pop up window shows. Was hoping there was a way to delay that.
Thanks,
TC

Well of course if you wait a second the context-menu is displayed.
An option could be handy for people who don't like the delayed context menu.
As "how to display the right-click menu?" is a frequently asked support question it would be great if this option would find its way to the configuration dialog. If there would be an option "Display the right-click menu delayed" (maybe with an edit field which is used to enter a delay in ms) users would know how it works when opening the configuration dialog at first glance.

Only if you did not release the mouse button in between.AnthonyCian wrote: If on the other hand, you highlighted two or more files, the pop up window doesn't appear.
Select two files. release the Mousebutton and press it again on another file. The contextmenu pops up.
Neverthless it is right that an option to set the delay could be useful.

But the delay may not be long enought for someone who is not that fast.
(and actually it is not for AnthonyCian)
If you want to mark more than one file but you are not fast enough then the first file gets marked and before you can mark another file the context menu pops up - what prevents TC from marking other files.
If you have already marked 2 files you have all the time of the world to mark more - the context menu does not pop up any more (until you release the button and press it again).
I remeber the times when I started to use Windows I've been very clumsy with the mouse. It took sometimes 3 or four trials to perform a double-click.
