ftp: Login incorrect

Post by *HAg »

I have been using TC on Windows 98 SE for a long time with no problems at all. Now suddenly i get this error. Only one particular server gives me this problem. I have trieded twice from a DOS prompt (ftp.exe). No problems at all, so the problem seems to be TC.
Here is the contents of my logfile:

username=drejoe
startdir=/local/share/www/oelejr.dk/data/drejoe

USER drejoe

Sending otp-md5 password...
PASS ***********

QUIT

The password comes from a list of passwords. When starting a new session i use the password matching the number requested. In ths session it was password no. 494: HUGE NIP FAIN AURA BREW GULF. Its not longer valid so don't bother try it.

I have no idea what could be wrong - TC correctly implements the otp-md5 password algorithm. However, it sends the password as a hex value, not as a list of words. Both are correct, and MUST be supported by servers, but some rare servers have a bug and don't implement the hex form.

Was the server changed recently?

Yes it has recently been upgraded and moved. The server is an Apache/2.2.0.
