About VIEW64 viewer

Post by *Lefteous »

Raymond wrote: I found this viewer very excellent, a good replacement for Lister.
But its README and other doc files are in Russian which I can't read.
Are there any english doc files about this tool?
Does it have its own homepage?
Is v1.42 its latest version?

Some time ago it was available at
http://attend.to/alexch (http://www.caravan.ru/~alexch)

But now there is nothing about view64. Try mail to axch@mail.ru, alexch@caravan.ru

Thanks for your information!

I moved the original thread to the plugin forum because I received a hint that view64 is a plugin. Now I checked this information and I realized it's a standalone program.
I created a so called "Shadow topic" in the english forum to indicate the thread was moved. Before moving the original thread back to the English forum I wanted to delete the "Shadow topic". I didn't realize "Shadow topics" are linked to the original threads, which means I inadvertently deleted the original thread. I'm sorry about that. I tried to restore the original thread as good as possible.
It was my fault not to test this operation in my test board before executing it here.
I hope you'll not be so angry with me!
I'll try to to avoid such operations in the future and check given hints before executing moderator actions.

After the plugin forum has been renamed to addons and plugins it's time to move this thread to the renamed forum without a shadow topic of course ;-)

By the way. VIEW64 has a very useful feature. It can copy text as Unicode. (In the 'Edit' menu you can find items Copy, Copy Ansi and Copy Unicode). For example, in TC's lister i can read text in my language, but when i try to copy and paste it into the Outlook Express message, i have something unreadable. And when i do the same via VIEW64, everything is allright. If lister can copy text as Unicode, please tell me how. If can't - i think it should. I find it very needful.

New version of View-64  1.49beta

v1.42 was the last final version, there is a file called readme.rus on v1.49 zip file that "maybe" explains changes from 1.42 to 1.49, may someone translate these changes from Russian to English ?, thanks.

Both readme.rus and description page don't contain any changelog.

The most meaningful new feature for me is that it can show position in % now.

Who can confirm the fullscreen bug and report to the author? I don't know Russian at all.

2XPEHOPE3KA
Thanks for take a look at readme.rus.

2Raymond
You can report bugs & suggestions to author in English, i've done it time ago and he answered me.

One thing that is new on v1.49 is that is possible to open multiple instances (on window mode) at same position on the screen.

Options->System->Others->Open multiple running instances at one screen position.

Thank you. I'm using this beta version now, everyday.
Just want to know if it's still under development.
