so why we are using windows instead of dos?
do we prefer using dos technology and norton commander?
are we using windows cos it has become the standard or cos additionally we like it more than dos?
that s being esthetic i think.
if u only think about the functioning of ur program u lose customers.
and this little background image property is just a little add on for small pleasures. we dont want winamp api. we only want small graphical customisability.
after adding its code while it s still disabled;
if it would make the program use more than 250 kbs of ram i wouldnt want it
if it would slow the program i wouldnt want it.
if becos of coding it more important improvements wouldnt be made i wouldnt want it.
we all know that there are nearly hundreds of file managers. why to reduce ur customer percent?

1. Implementing optional background images doesn't hurt those who have no use for it, so it is a constructive feature request.
2. Denying the need of optional background images hurts those who have a use for it without resulting in anything postive for those you have no use for it, so it is a destructive request.
If you can offer a workaround that equals this feature request or you have other reasons against that feature in general, please explain but without using "ghisler language" like "will make TC slower", "doesn't work on 16 Bit windows", "my cat is ill", etc...

Eh eh. Funny question.so why we are using windows instead of dos?
I would probably not use that option, but IMHO this should be the user to decide. New version will have alternate line colours which is good news for graphical customisability.

Oh it does. It takes away time from useful feature requests.Implementing optional background images doesn't hurt those who have no use for it
Sure. There are other, more important things waiting to be implemented.or you have other reasons against that feature in general, please explain

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

When do you think TC should display that image? When TC becomes active. When it's resized, tabs are switched, selection is removed, etc.
What libraries will TC need to draw such images? System (if any & not buggy) or 3-d party (if not buggy) or Delphi (leads to size enlargement AFAIK)? What types of images should these libraries support?
You know that displaying an image isn't a safe task (see wmfallowed key?), so supporting BG images will sooner or later require additional sequrity releases
Do you really think that it's my job as a user to care about that? Well, it's not, I couldn't care less. Thinking about theoretical problems of features that will never be implemented is a waste of time.

Many applications support BG images, so there must be some really brave developers and users out there. Life is a risk and sooner or later ends, I can accept that. You know that displaying an image isn't a safe task (see wmfallowed key?), so supporting BG images will sooner or later require additional sequrity releases
