[Beta] Ctrl+Click selects 2 files

Post by *XPEHOPE3KA »

1. Place a cursor on any entry in the panel.
2. Place the mouse cursor on any other entry in the same panel.
3. Press Ctrl+LeftMouseButton.
Both entries become selected. Bug?

Confirmed in TC 6.55 PB1
XP PRO SP2

Bug? CTRL is used to click and select files. I guess it would work better like this:

 If you entered a folder without selecting any file/folder, ctrl-click should only select one file/folder, the first time.

 If you select a file/folder and then ctrl-click, both file should be marked.

Explorer work like this.

:) Hello !

• You might precise which mouse button you are using to select…
- I use always the left one, and when I click an item then click another in the opposite panel, the first mark disappears if I didn't press <SpaceBar> to select it before…

- I simply noticed that Ctrl+L-Clic acts here as <L-Click —> SpaceBar>, that can be useful, though.
- So, I don't see any bug here for the moment…

 Kind regards,
Claude

My mouse selection mode is as in NC. That means that I normally use RMB. Does that mean that I can't use Ctrl+L-Click?

I've tried it just now: nothing depends on mouse selection mode. In Windows mode both files are selected.

BTW: I wasn't talking about any opposite panel. I meant ONE panel & I'll correct my first post a bit.

Confirmed.

I'm using the NC-Mode, too.

So I consider it a bug as I would not expect TC to select any file on Ctrl-leftclick nor on Shift leftclick.

I guess it all comes from fixing this bug.

Then you guessed wrong: This bug is reproducable with the older 'unfixed' versions, too.

No, this isn't a bug, it's intentional! Why? If no file is selected, TC acts as if the file under the cursor is selected. When you Ctrl+Click on another file, BOTH will be selected - if you only wanted to select the other, a single click would have been sufficient!

If already other files are selected and the cursor stands on a not selected file, Ctrl+Clicking will NOT select that other file together with the file you clicked on.
