hi,
is there a way how to use multiple threads for one connection in TC? Or is there plugin which allows this?
Alternatively is this considered to be implemented in the future?
My current problem is that i'm kinda forced at work use tools like smart ftp etc which suck big times, but can upload four times faster than TC. Would be great if TC had multiple threads!
thx,
mahdi
FTP - multiple threads per connection?

Hi,
No, there is currently no way (except for manually starting many transfers in the background), nor is it planned, AFAIK. An FTP client is recommended for tasks that are faster using multiple threads.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
This is not good, i have like the same problem, but why is there no possible way to implement this into TC is this so hard ir a problem with Licence or what ?Hacker wrote:Hi,

This isn't done because it's a completely different working method! There are in principle two types of ftp clients:
1. Connection-based (like TC): Everything is done via one connection, all uploads and downloads. This is necessary e.g. for a server where the user has specific upload/download ratios, and for servers which do not support multiple connections at the same time from the same client. It's also necessary for servers which do not report their current directory, or not correctly (e.g. some exotic mainframes).
2. File-based clients (often called download managers): Here each file is downloaded in a separate connection, so it's possible to start multiple connections in parallel.
