2djk It seems you and Lefteous have different problems. What happens if you don't rename plugin? It works?

Sorry, i didn't read carefully. Yes it seems very similar. Try to delete tconsole.ini

It's me... I've modified the post in the meantime :-)

I deleted the ini file, the plugin file, reinstalled it again and... still doesn't work in both cases (renamed and not renamed). :-(
Of course I rebooted TC, too.

I'm running XP Pro too. Reinstalling the plugin and restarting TC didn't help. Old version (<= 1.5) work fine.

Yeah... it's a problem of many other plugins... they have their ini files in:

- plugin directory
- TC directory
- wincmd.ini directory
- Windows directory
And some of them use lsplugin.ini or fsplugin.ini files.

Terrible... :-(

Fully agree!

An additional problem for me is that I normally work as a restricted user. As a restricted user I don't have write access to:

- plugin directory
- TC directory
- windows directory

not much left...

If I want to change a setting of a plugin which uses one of the above mentioned directories for storing settings I have to start TC as an Administrator :evil:

I'm waiting for a new version :-)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander]
"InstallDir"="d:\\totalcmd"
"FtpIniName"="%USERPROFILE%\\wcx_ftp.ini"
"IniFileName"="%USERPROFILE%\\wincmd.ini"

Agree. But i don't see the accceptable solution. Take in account: TC also can use several .ini files for different users and .ini file from command string! It's very hard to believe that plugin authors will follow all these rules. As result every plugin handles own .ini file in the own manner.

There is no such a registry key on my pc. I'm using the command line switches /I and /F to set the INI file locations.

Suggestions for a suitable INI file location: TC should provide the INI paths shown in the about dialog to each plugin.
