[OT] weird situation: duplicated files

My colleague bring the memory stick from digital camera, complaining there were some errors on the camera and the photo studio couldn't transfer the photos. I took out the stick and inserted into the usb reader. On the following screen shots is the situation I found out that leaves me surrounded with question marks.

First one is TC (right panel) second one is exlporer.

That shouldn't be possible, but...

While some programs crashed on opening this dir, TC handled it fine, so I rescued the photos and formatted the memory stick.

Apparently the folder is really damaged. Maybe a scandisk run can fix it.
