I've selected some archieves (all were zips) and told TC to unpack 'em.
A window appeared with two progress bars, both changing the same way - for current archieve only.
Questions:
1. Why lower bar doesn't display overall progress (as it does in other actions)?
2. If it doesn't, why is it there? Not needed at all...

How many files did each archive contain? Here the bars work correctly for each archive - first bar for one file in an archive, second bar for all files in an archive.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Ah, yes, I understand it now! Of course there was one file per archieve.
But I thought that the higher progress bar is for one of the archieves (not for its contents), whereas the lower progress bar is for the whole uncompressing process.
What do you think of a situation if it were as I expected it to be?
