TC 6.55

Post by *XPEHOPE3KA »

Lefteous in his blog told that this TC version will come to the world soon :(

But can anyone publish here the list of fixes introduced with it?

I did not write that it will come to the world soon (but I didn't write that it won't come to the world soon).

Well, it would make no sense to release TC6.55 after the release of TC 7, woudn't it? ;)

Okay okay here you are:

Code: Select all

05.06.06 Release Total Commander 6.55 beta 2
01.06.06 Fixed: Crash in internal desktop search when entering a search string longer than 255 characters.
01.06.06 Fixed: Long delay when the unified command systems update menu captions.
01.06.06 Fixed: Endless loop when trying to execute a user macro which doesn't end with a line break.
31.05.06 Fixed: Unicode version only: Fixed a bug where paths could be longer than 259 characters although not supported by most shell functions.
As you can see it's just a bugfix release. Nothing really worldshaking.

You are a party pooper :P
It's so funny that people ask for for an early version of a history list for a version which is announced as bugfix version. :o

Do you think that could be the reason that each and every party ends at the latest half an hour after my arrival? ;)

Hi all forum members:

Is is true that Unified Command System is going to be included in TC 7.0 or is that just a joke?

Best,
Ariel

No one has the intention of including an unified command system into TC 7 :)

This thread is about TC 6.55 not about TC 7
The question comes because this is one of the most expected features in future versions of TC, maybe the most :-)

So, it is only a matter of: Can we expect this in the near future or not?

Maybe Lefteous, one of TC's beta testers can give us some light on the matter. ;-)

Okay here are some words on this. The unified command system will probably never be implemented as it's described in the wiki. The reason is that it includes some changes that would break compatibility with older versions.

However some aspects concerning commands will be improved in TC 7. I can't tell you details at this time. New features are still added to TC 7.
