square selection would be great
i was used to, and still looking forward to, square-select in TC, just like in explorer.
almost all other explorer-replacing programs support it, since they are more explorer-like. i thought i could live without this feature. but that makes my life hard.

If you have set
Configuration->Otions->Operation:Mouse selection mode:Use right mouse button (as in NC)
you may hold down the right button and each file you touch with the mouse button will be selected. And if you selected a file by accident you only have to release the mouse button and press it again and all selected files you touch become unselected again.
If you get used to this feature you'll probably find it more convenient than explorer square select.

Now, seriously, you should try right-click selection. As you say, it's a question of habits, and once you're used to this selection mode, it will be faster than any other method, IMHO.
I don't think there are so much TC power members not using the right-click selection mode (correct me if I'm wrong).
Well, you can also try with keyboard, if the solution proposed by Lefteous doesn't fit you. Press NUMPAD- and then Enter.st wrote:put it aside, i cannot unselect all with a single click in this mode
