So what? I just wanted to point out that doing it all in the same thread is a bad habit - no more, no less.

Where can I read about new Vista behaviour that forces Christian to call MessageLoop? What is it?

I can't find it documented anywhere, but if you don't handle messages for a few seconds on Vista, the system will show a messagebox to the user that the application has apparently crashed...
