[Bug or question] Why to add at the end?
Go to Options->Layout->Display->Help texts. Tick everything there and press the Plus button. There when configuring a tooltip and adding a new field it is added at the end, while most users expect it to be added at the cursor place.
Can anyone explain WHY? It isn't comfortable at all.

He means adding new content plugins in the "Custom fields by file type" box.
Anyway, I am not sure what most users expect here. The present state at least guarantees that the added string can always be found with ease after adding it. If you add a string without having correctly positioned your cursor before, you probably have to waste time examing the string in Notepad to find the position at which you have added it.
The problem here is that the box in which you can add the string is way too small.

Somewhere else I suggested something like this:
The current tooltip config has some problems. Here is another approach:
Current problems:
- Tooltip is represented as a single line (most important point). It almost impossible to retain an overview.
- Before adding a field the user has to type a caption for each field. Without a caption it's just data not an information.
My idea:
- Display a simple listbox which represents the tooltip much better
- When adding a field to a new line TC automatically prepends "FIELDNAME: " to the field.
- Remove button removes the currently selected line(s).
- Edit button let's the user manually edit the line (inline editing).
- Reordering using drag/drop or shift key as in many TC dialogs

In my opinion the suggested dialog is still simple but more usable than the current one.

I totally agree.Lefteous wrote:...

Even a dialog like the Edit Custom Columns dialog, where the meaning of columns is replaced with lines, would be better.
Kind regards
