Ambiguity with "USB sticks"

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

I have accidentally formatted it with some PQI formatting tool and now it's only one partition. Wonder if that might had anything to do with this problem.
Yes, that's exactly the problem (not the drivers)! When you format the drive with two partitions, it's formatted like a harddisk with a partition table. It isn't possible (to my knowledge) to detect such drives. When you reformatted it, it was formatted without a partition table like a big floppy disk, which can be recognized with the function above.

Oh, that clears things up.

I would like to test your claim but I don't know how to bring back old partition layout because none of the PQI partitioning tool can do the job.
But I work in a shop and have other PQI pendrives so I will put them to the test soon...

Maybe you can repartition/reformat your USB stick with Windows' DiskManager - just run:

diskmgmt.msc

(if you are using Win XP).

One remark: if a card has no label, it TC shows it as "Removable Disk". However, if a card has a label, TC shows this label. So, if a label doesn't exist (default case), there is no way to say in which slot (USB drive) this card is inserted. It's a minor nuisance, however, it would be fine to show the "active slot(s)" somehow.

It would indeed be nice, but this info is not available anywhere programmatically. :(
