Drive letter upper/lower case mix in Tabs

Post by *telmich »

In the tab the drive letters are most times upper case in 7b2 but if I remove a drive and the view switch to C:\ there is displayed a lowercase c: instead of the expected upper case C:
It remains lower case even if I change folders and go back to the root.

What is "the tab" please? I haven't seen any difference to Beta 1 regarding upper case till now. Do you have a screenshot?

I have requested upper case for tabs here:

Sorry for "the tab" :?, I wanted to say what this Image will show:

Hopefully you understand it with this image.

I prefer one case for drive letters. For me it doesn't matter which one ;)

With the option "show drive letter in tabs" activated you don't see any upper case. Maybe that's a hint.

Thanks, I found the problem, it's related to the new option to change the separator character when showing the drive letter always.

I don't know if it does any difference to your solution, but on my system it is only drive c: that is shown i lowercase - all my other drives D: -> U: are shown i uppercase.

Note, that also the drive letter in the tooltips for tabs with drive C: is shown in lowercase.

Just to mention it in case :

* On pb1, when copying a path (for instance c:\temp was returned the c: in lowercase)

* On pb2, copying c:\temp return now : C:\temp

In my case, this affected all my drive. C:,F:,T:

Why does uppercase appear only in tabs and not in the path line or the command line? Wouldn't it be better if it appeared uppercase in all places?

I prefer lowercase. It would be nice if there could be an option that lets you choose whether all Drive Letters are upper case or lower case.

To be consequent the drive letters in the "drive combobox" should be the same case, too.

It's not intended, and will be back to lowercase in the next version.

In my case the problem arised when I was in a subdirectory and then pressed the "Change to root dir" button. This way the drive letters on the folder tabs became uppercase while TC6.55 and below displayed lowercase.
Anyway I prefer lowercase...

The problem still present in some cases like when copying the path.
As instance cm_CopyFullNamesToClip will return C:\temp sometimes instead of c:\temp.
This may also affect some plugins which also rely on string comparaison with case sensitive, like crc32tag.

This bug report was about tabs only.

I will check what the problem is with the clipboard functions.
