ya, but you are a creating a plugin that uses a different backend...might as well consider it an entirely different plugin, especially to avoid confusion.

also your original post is over 2 years and it doesn't have any useful info other than location where to get it..i had to read a few pages in this thread to find out about .ini, settings, etc etc..

Very nice ! At least that search engine is used by TC.
To make it working with Everything I added this next section to FSE.ini

[Everything]
Path=C:\...\Everything

and to use by default Everything rather than Locate I added
[Config]
Engine=Everything

Now it works perfectly.
Please, can you explain how to edit FSE options without editing FSE.ini

Other request : is it possible to create a button in the button bar to run at once a new search ?

As usualy for any plugin - right click on plugin name (FSE) and invoke Properties dialog.

Yes, use FSEStart program.

It should not assume that Everything is running all the time.
If there is no Everything process the plugin should start it for this search.

When I try to delete a stored search (named "orf"), I get a window like this. Looks scary, like it is trying to delete real files, not just the search. What is happening?

Don't worry, all operations FSE performs on "links" only and never on real files. It seems like TC's interpretation on FSE failure.
Why FSE failed to delete it's own object - this is the question. Can you save and send me your search result from FSE?

Another questions are:
When this happens? Every time or not?
Does this depend on filename length?
What TC version - 7.0x or TC 7.5 beta?

Usualy it is easy to find my email in readme.txt

Yes, it was. Now I cannot reproduce with same search, because the searches got deleted most probably because I disabled appending Results to file.

Can you check the same search in TC 7.0x?

Hey guys,

Been trying out FSE again since a while. Downloaded the latest version and installed locate32-3.0.7.7010_2.

Whenever I do a search I never get any search results and I have to press CTRL-R to see my search. Also the folders keep duplicating and I can't delete any results.

Have a look at this picture I created.

Doing the search directly in Locate gives me immediate results. Any idea what goes wrong?

It seems you use option "Search in separate thread"? In this case you have to press Ctrl+R to see result.

What you mean "keep duplicating"??? According to picture it looks like you run search twice. May be you run search second time before press Ctrl+R?

I can't delete any results
