Quick search and dot character

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Quick search and dot character

Post by *jcelle »

Hello,
In Configuration / Operation / Quick Search I checked the "Alt+Letters" option.

I have directories and files begining with the dot character ('.foo' for instance)

Trying to quickly position the focus on this '.foo' directory by pressing the ALT key and typing .f fails.

The dot character is ignored and opens the command line with the dot character. I always have to grab my mouse and locate the directory by hand.

Would be nice to have quick search accept all valid characters for files and directories names.

Works fine for me (WinXP SP2) ...

You even have to position your focus on the left or right panel first (not the commandline)

EDIT: You may have mixed up a little bit ? The "." appears at the search field, not the commandline ! This gives you the possibility to modify your search without hurry.
