Programmer's Haiku:

Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Apparently thumbs.db is proprietary to the extent that Mr. Ghisler is unwilling to use it.

Other developers do, though.

2d: mark folders and show size with -alt-shift-enter- then print to file, or use plugin catalog maker or disk dir!!

2 OTs: :D you know "Mel the programmer"? I love that (worked with the same code and machine)

OT!! Of course. Is there any other kind of topic?

Thanks CEUM, that was fascinating. I'm not old enough to have experienced drum memory but I did enough work on core memory to empathise with Mel. One of my mentors was actually in at the beginning and used to regale us with stories of using vacuum tubes and relay logic in his day. These lines are poetry:

I have often felt that programming is an art form,
whose real value can only be appreciated
by another versed in the same arcane art;
there are lovely gems and brilliant coups
hidden from human view and admiration, sometimes forever,

Back to the topic: I'm not using thumbs.db because it's undocumented and may change with future versions of Windows, or even with the next service pack.

Hmm I hate these files in each directory. And I disabled creation in windows. Its just nasty to see them every Time. I like the TC way with a global database much more!
If you will change this way, please make it optional for the users.
