Empty files in tar.gz archive are unpacked to 13Mb files

Post by *Aleksio »

Checked in TotalCmd 7.0 & 7.02.

I tried to unpack the basket-1.0.2.tar.gz file (sources of KDE Basket 1.0.2, http://basket.kde.org/downloads/?file=basket-1.0.2).
But instead of 13 230 891 bytes (as in WinRAR), I got 626 094 891 bytes unpacked.
Empty files like basket-1.0.2\admin\CVS\.svn\empty-file (0 bytes) were unpacked as 13 619 200 bytes.

NOT confirmed here.
All unpacked files have the same size as displayed in the archive, total size of unpacked files is identical, too (13.230.891 bytes).

Used steps here:
- open .gz archive with ENTER
- open .tar archive with ENTER
- unpack the contained directory using F5

(TC 7.02a, Win2k SP4)
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
