Cycling between name/name+ext not working in zipping

Post by *StatusQuo »

When zipping files to the same dir (with Ctrl+Alt+F5; suggested name is e.g. "zip:TC.zip"),
name part cycling using repeatedly Alt+F5 or F5 key selects "zip:TC" instead of only "TC", when only the file name should be selected.
Typing a different name then would overwrite the "zip:" part, turning it into a copy action instead of zipping.

It is now (TC 7.02a):
zip:TC.zip
zip:TC.zip
It should be:
zip:TC.zip
zip:TC.zip
Also, Ctrl+Alt+F5 unfortunately does not cycle here, so at least Ctrl-key has to be released first.
Maybe this can be added, if the above gets fixed?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

All fixed bugs have been moved to the "Confirmed bugs" section. This problem was too risky to be fixed, it could have dozens of side effects with partial names etc. Therefore I have postponed it to TC 7.5.

Hello, StatusQuo.

Taking your example from January 2008, cycling through the name parts using <F5> works like this in Total Commander v7.50 Public Beta 1:
starting point => zip:TC.zip
pressing <F5> => zip:TC.zip
pressing <F5> => zip:TC.zip
pressing <F5> => zip:TC.zip (ok, here we are back at the beggining)
"zip:TC" alone will never be marked. Is this the expected behaviour? If it is then we may consider this bug fixed?!

Kind regards,
Karl
