Post by *ts4242 »

Try this:

1. Select text file
2. press F3
3. press F5
4. type any word e.g. <space>something<space> and press OK
5. restart TC
6. Select text file
7. press F3
8. press F5
9. select the word you typed in step 4

you will not find the right space

:) Hello !

Confirmed here following yours steps.

• I would prefer that it removes the (unwanted ghost) backward space, like in the misadventure I suffered HERE:lol:

Confirmed

I find it highly inconsequent - also taking into consideration that TC actually surrounds the string with quotation marks when there is a space in the beginning of the string - so why not when it is in the end of the string?

It's indeed a bug (or call it feature) of the ini file functions of Windows. I have to check every single string for spaces at the end or start, and then surround it with "", otherwise the spaces will be lost when reading from the ini file...

That's true! but the bug here is that, TC removes the right space(s) before surround the string with ""

BTW: there is another situation where string must be surrounded with "" if it is already surrounded with "", otherwise the quotations will be lost when reading from the ini

All fixed bugs have been moved to the "Confirmed bugs" section. This problem was quite complex to fix in TC 7.5, so I preferred to postpone the fix and don't put it in TC 7.03.
