[solved!] exporting custom columns to text file

Post by *chrizoo »

Hi. Do you know if there is a way to store the information that is displayed in the selected view, particularly custom views ? Since you can copy all the displayed filenames and filenames+path, I thought there might be a way to copy the info displayed in the custom columns as well.

(I have one with checksum values, that I wanted to export alongside with the filenames).

By the way, I have no experience with checksums/hashes. Which type do you think is calculated fastest, but can still be reasonably considered unique enough to avoid coincidental collisions ?

thanks.

You can go via the clipboard with the command cm_CopyFileDetailsToClip, which also supports custom columns.

MD5 is a good compromise between speed and uniqueness.
