DriveBarHide can hide file lists

Post by *ts4242 »

if drive button bar is hidden and you set DriveBarHide to hide all drives and network neighborhood then the two file lists are totally hidden.
e.g. if your system has drives a,c,d,e,f and g, set DriveBarHide=acdefg\ or DriveBarHide=acdefg\. and see the result

Indeed you cannot hide everything of the drive bar and the drive dropdown list, this doesn't work (and also makes little sense).

Since this is a hypotectical problem only which no user would encounter when using the function normally, I will fix it in TC 7.5 only.

Maybe it should be added that there only is a problem if you have disabled the "Show drive combobox" !

:) Good evening,

• Indeed that doesn't make sense to hide all drives in a file manager, you are right !

- However, to prevent the discussed situation, maybe could we have a feature preventing to hide all drives
when the Drive-list is hidden, and leading to a special string as i.e.
DriveBarHide=A§Z
to hide all drives except the Win¦boot one, instead of the current "A-Z" one?
- Or else :
DriveBarHide=A-Z|E
to exclude the boot-drive ?
Just a thought…

it is not a hypotectical problem, there should be some users maybe likes to hide all drives and just show \, .. and volume label, so it is worth to fix in next revision release 7.04 or maybe 7.03a and not wait too long for 7.5

I start the post with "if drive button bar is hidden" but it should be "if drive combobox is hidden"

if drive button bar is hidden
Yes, but I am talking about the Drive combo box - not the Drive button bar.

You can already do this by using the drive dropdown listbox. There is no gain in doing that.
it is worth to fix in next revision release 7.04 or maybe 7.03a and not wait too long for 7.5
There will be a 7.03a only if there is some serious bug found in 7.03 which would require such an update.
