Packing unselected files in RAR archive

Post by *gmb »

When I try to pack one file (or several selected files) in RAR archive, all files from source folder are packed - not only selected.

(TC 7.50 pb1 and WinRAR 3.80 on Windows XP SP2)

:) Hello ! Welcome aboard !

• That doesn't occur here, only the selected files are packed.
- I use WinRar 3.50 - Win XP-Pro SP1.

- I pack files n… times a day, didn't see such an issue for any 7.5 version (including private betas)…

 Kind regards,
Claude

Do you use WinRAR.exe or Rar.exe?

I've used the 1st one.

Yes, it was rar.exe

With WinRar.exe is OK.
Older TCs used to work fine with rar.exe

Rarlab could change something with commandline params. Just quick shot, I did not read their versions history.

I can confirm the problem - it seems that rar.exe doesn't like Unicode list files. I will try to use Ansi list files in this case.

I can confirm the bug in pb1 and fix in pb2. WinRAR 3.80.

Did you try with rar.exe? The problem doesn't exist with winrar.exe, only rar.exe...

Yes, sure. I'm always using WinRAR.exe, and that's why I did not meet this bug when I was testing pb1. Now for this test I set rar.exe instead of winrar.exe, checked pb1 and pb2, and indeed there was the problem in the first and was not in the second.

Ah, I see the reason of confusion. :) When I wrote "WinRAR 3.80" in my pre-previous post, I meant not WinRAR.exe executable file itself, but WinRAR as a general program (package) name, just to specify a version I was using for the tests. :) Sorry, I did not think it could be treated like winrar.exe.
