Here is an example situation:

Close all running applications. Open Notepad.exe. After that open TC.

Create a new directory "test" on drive c:
Change to c:\test
Create a new directory "test2" (c:\test\test2)
Copy any file into c:\test\test2
Change to c:\test
Press "F8" and delete directory "test2"
A windows pops up "Do you really want to delete selected directory?"
Press Enter
A window pops up "Directory is not empty. Do you want to delete it with all files/subdirectories?"
Press Enter

Notepad.exe comes to front and get focus

The copied file in "test2" is important. If directory "test2" is empty this problem doesn't occur.

In that example, notepad.exe only gets focus, if the second popup window "Directory is not empty. Do you want to delete it with all files/subdirectories?" was shown.

And here is another example:

Same situation: only notepad.exe and TC are open.
Create a file example.txt in c:\
Copy the same file example.txt to c:\test
Copy the file example.txt to c:\test again to overwrite it.
A warning message pops up "Overwrite, Cancel, Skip, Rename, ..."
Press ESC to cancel or Enter to overwrite.

Notepad.exe comes to front and get focus

I have used a clean windows installation. Only Adobe Reader 9.1 was installed and WindowBlinds 6.4 public. After installation of WindowBlinds I switched to skin "Diamond".

I will take a deeper look into this problem the next days. Hope to find the reason for the focus change problem.

One user reported that it started after he installed WindowBlinds. Does it stop when you temporarily disable WindowBlinds?

I have installed Filebox Extender now, and can confirm the problem. It happens because with Filebox Extender, the dialog is shown already when created, not when TC tells it to appear. I assume that the same applies to WindowBlinds. I already found a workaround which seems to work in most cases.

thanks, i had the same problem with fbx 2.xx (1.9x works), but could solve it with adding tc to the exceptions.

Btw, do you also get ugly white borders around the filebox extender buttons in the title bar (WinXP)?

I get that if I use the blue theme. I use the silver now so it doesn't show up as bad.

@ghisl: i have disabled themes (classic view).
maybe you should try the latest 1.91 build. the only thing they changed in 2.0 is the vista compatibility (+1MB?!). and as i recall i had no probs with focuschanges then, but could be wrong not having tc beta back then.

anyway, since its nowhere to be found anymore and the hypericons homepage does not show any sign of fbx anymore (?!) i uploaded the 1.91.05 to here.

It didn't start happening to me until I installed the new beta. The last version of TC didn't do this with FileBox eXtender. I am using XP Pro SP3.
