|
|
As promised, I'm publishing a tool which demonstrates the new password encryption and decryption in Total Commander 7.5. The tool is published with full source code under a BSD-style license. This allows everyone to review the code for possible security holes.
The tool can be used to show a forgotten ftp password in plain text, as long as you know the master password.
You can download it here:
tccrypt program
tccrypt source
Simply run the tool by double clicking the program in Total Commander (so it will find the wcx_ftp.ini by itself).
Please note that the tool doesn't currently support Unicode, so passwords
with characters from a different codepage will not work.
You can find some technical information about the used encryption in the file readme.txt. _________________ Author of Total Commander

Suggestion: single "Encrypt" click to see all entries at once (in the form of table or list). Dropdown is more annoying. _________________ "When we created the poke, we thought it would be cool to have a feature without any specific purpose." Facebook...

Hi Christian,
This tool only show passwords for those protected by a master password.
In case I don't use master password, how to see FTP passwords in plain text?
Thanks. |
