Always the containers---
2Boofo
Again…
• It seems that by design we get always the mirror of the original structure…
- I tested from a single directory and its sub-directory- in order to avoid duplicates from several sources in a ZIP archive
which would contain only files (that's a Paul's thought, I guess he's right…).
- So, to make a updated backup - always with the structure, whatever option you have as ticked previously
in the Pack dialogue - simply delete the old ZIP and press the button does the trick !

And with switches ?
2Boofo
Well, that should be faster, i.e. whether the parameter could support some switches :
O=Overwrite the old ZIP (is it that you mean ?)
F=Pack files only without dir. containers (when we are sure that no duplicate name exists in the list)… And so on…

- As “switch” we could have :ZIPFROMLIST Path\blah_blah.zip /switch

Re: Two¦three causes

Hello!
Hello!
URL\ is a folder name, there is no need at all to remove it, zipfromlist works OK with such entry as far as the names saved ANSIClo wrote:and also like Boofo points out above,
the URL\ first line is not a file and must be removed.
If the full path not present, TC adds the path of the active panel to the file name.Clo wrote:- Moreover, I assume that each line must show the file-name with its path, or else how TC could find them ?
Random

Again…
• In fact, the first line is *url\ and this Unicode upper dot can't be shown here, so I write a red asterix instead…
If it means "All files in that dir.", I guess that it might have wildcards \*.*
- Last point : Using the active panel path as default when there is none is rather random…

Re: Random

Hello!
Hello!
zipfromlist doesn't support environment variable, So using names without path is useful to use the same file names list with different folders, just go to that folder and execute zipfromlistClo wrote:Using the active panel path as default when there is none is rather random…
I have tried on other computer and IT'S WORK!ts4242 wrote:2eugensyl
I think the problem is that, the file names (test.txt) saved as Unicode!
You have to save it using ANSI encoding.
I think this was the problem and this kind of trouble must be write in help file and ZIPFROMLIST add as internal command (maybe with parameters) together with OPENTABS, APPENDTABS, OPENBAR, etc.

Please don't forget to add ZipUnicode setting in Ultra TC Editor (Configuration).
Thank you very much, all of you for your patience.

I've never really messed with 7-Zip. I was hoping to not have to install a third party program to accomplish what ZIMFROMLIST does if I can get it to overwrite the files.
chmod a+x /bin/laden -- Allows anyone the permission to execute /bin/laden

I prefer WinRAR, though I haven't looked at 7Zip in a year or two. The last time I did it's interface and features and shell integration weren't even comparable. The general small gain in compression size of 7Zip isn't worth the memory usage and time required to get it.

I have WinRAR installed so I could use that if I was better at the command line stuff with it. I use the GUI.
ZIPFROMLIST has some good possibilities if it would have some parameters with it.
