Lister window position and size

Post by *arkadian »

Hi,
I would like to contribute to Total Commander development. I have been using this... multitool for years and I find it great.

My problem: Recently I have started using three (3) screens. Since the Lister window is percentage of the desktop width it is unnecessarily long.

My suggestion: save Lister window position and size.

It is advisable to check during Lister window opening that the window is within desktop limits. The reason is that the user may switch between large screen and smaller screen (widescreen vs. laptop own display).

My recommendation:
Lister -> Options -> Save position

Thank you, HolgerK!

I missed this option somehow. Good hint!

Still, I would recommend to consider introducing the functionality of saving position and size when Lister quits. This gives a user extra convenience and is definately right approach.
I use it in my applications so a user finds the app window at the same place at every session.

Anyway Save position is satisfactory and works. Thank you again.

Lister Position and Size

Post by *CmdrSpota »

Hi,

I think, the Lister Position and Size should not be saved in the "[Lister]"-Section.
(x=... y=... dx=... dy=...)

It should be saved like the other Windows in the Resolution-Section(s) as:
[1600x1200 (8x16)] (for Example)
ListerX=...
ListerY=...
ListerDX=...
ListerDY=...

I think that would be grateful!

Regards
