"Synchronise directories" window offers the possibility to compare files on both sides using built-in compare tool but it works only if CompareTool option is not specified. In such case external comparing application is called.

So, please, add another menu item (when needed) just for getting internal comparison.

AFAIR I tried some combinations. (Because I know TC can do more than you see on first look.)
Yes would be nice.
