TC 7.50 RC2 crashes silently with TortoiseSVN context-menu

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC 7.50 RC2 crashes silently with TortoiseSVN context-menu

Post by *nikee »

hi

TC 7.50 RC2 (27.8.2009) crashes silently (disappears) when opening the TortoiseSVN context-menu by a right click on a file or folder, reproducible with the menu entry "Properties". TC then just crashes, no error message. happens also with other context-entries of TortoiseSVN (but not all).

this definitely used to work with the last stable version of TC and the same TortoiseSVN version.

version info of TortoiseSVN (most recent version available):

TortoiseSVN 1.6.5, Build 16974 - 32 Bit , 2009/08/20 08:13:46
Subversion 1.6.5,
apr 1.3.8
apr-utils 1.3.9
neon 0.28.6
OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009
zlib 1.2.3

I don't think that it has anything to do with Tortoise - I have installed the latest version here today, and there are no crashes. Please consider that ALL shell extensions are loaded for which you see menu items already when you OPEN the menu. Therefore it can be ANY extension which causes the crash.

Please make a forum search for shellexview for instructions on how to fix that. Maybe you have O&O defrag installed?

hi

and strangely, I cannot reproduce it today anymore (but it still happened the other day)... :) I'll certainly keep an eye on it. :)

You seem to have a lot of shell extensions installed! Do you use any of them regularly? Try to remember what other extension you used on that day when you get the error again.
