which version of MMedia you are using,
this one v.2.52 x32, from 2-posts-upper link
which version of Windows Media Player is installed,
just default for w7 sp1 x64 prof.
which interface is choosen in MMedia,
if the "autoclose" option is checked or not,
here's my config file:
[ext]
MMEXT=3g2,3gp2,3gp,3gpp,amr,amv,asf,avi,bik,divx,dpg,dvr-ms,evo,ifo,flv,k3g,m1v,m2v,m2t,m2ts,m4v,m4p,m4b,mkv,mov,mp4,mpeg,mpg,mpe,mpv2,mp2v,mts,mxf,nsr,nsv,ogm,ogv,rm,ram,rmvb,rpm,rv,qt,skm,swf,ts,tp,tpr,trp,vob,wm,wmp,wmv
MP3EXT=mp2,mp3,m3u,ogg,pls
[Options]
autostart=1
infopresencewmp=1
autosave=0
RememberAP=0
Interface=3
autoclose=0
flxocx=0
fit=1
Alternate=3
if this error is shown with many MP3s,
with the first randomly selected, here's his info:
FileSize : 100368 bytes ( 98.016 KB, 0.096 MB )

--- MP3 ID3Tag information ---
Presence ID3tagv1 : No
Presence ID3tagv2 : No

--- MP3 Frame information ---
Nb of frames : 697
First Frame at : 0
Length : 25 seconds ( 0:25)
MPEG Type : MPEG 2.0 Layer 3 (MP3pro)
Bitrate : CBR 32 kbps
Sample Rate : 16000Hz
Channel Mode : Single channel
Emphasis : None
CRC protected : No
Copyrighted : No
Original : Yes
Guess Encoder : FhG
VBR Header : No
Lame Tag : No
but I can't reproduce bug any more, even on this file.
if the behavior is the same with video,
looks like NOT.

Earlier, in 2.50 in same situation (trying to play ANY mp3 file) by f3 or ctrl+q I've got "access violation..." errors in x32 and just self-killing tc-process in x64. Now, it looks like that bug is fixed, but (probably) not completely.
As I can remember, versions before 2.5x were stable in such situation.

I'll try to test it again some later (have no time right now) with some other files. May be, if needed, I'll upload them for you somewhere.

p.s.
As I remember, bug is only with mp3 files. Not any another.

This is not fixed in Mmedia 2.52.

I found problem with some avi files
Hi Krasusczak,
I tried MMedia with standard codec/container (AVI, MP4, MKV...) with ffdshow installed both in 32 or 64 bits versions without memory leak.
When you close MMedia, all the memory isn't freed because Media Player stay loaded until TC is closed but the memory used by MMedia is released.

Try with another codec if exists.

Hi
I tried play this file in standalone wmp & there is exactly the same problem, so they must be something wrong with this specific avi file.

Thanks

No, because I'm thinking to use Mediainfo instead libogg/libvorbis libraries, there is only one DLL, informations for OGG files are similar and we gain information and tags for tens of Audio and video codec

It's cool. but what about linking for different dll filenames for x86 and x64 versions, so that can be contained in same directory and use side-by-side without manual renaming etc.?

Would rather edit ID3v2 tags :)

Post by *Finn »

It would be nice if we could edit the ID3v2 tags too. Or at least transfer the ID3v1 tags over - by clicking a button. The altered ID3v2 tags should be saved when ID3v1 tags are saved - or when ID3v2 tags are transferred to ID3v1 tags.
Hope you get this... :)

crash exception when edit save with mmedia

Post by *nn1k3 »

I am new to mmedia. The "ID3Tag V1" should allow me to edit Artist and other tags, but saving my edits causes TC to crash:

Code: Select all

Application Error
Exception EExternalException in module TOTALCMD.EXE at 76F7359B. External Exception C0150010.
It crashes even if I don't edit, but just click on "save"
[face=courier]ID3Tag V1; Save => crash[/face]

What am I doing wrong?
Background: mmedia 2.5.2 32-bit_DL; TC 8.01 32-bit; Win7 64.

Hi to all, there is a long time MMedia hasn't been updated!!

MMedia ver 2.53
------------------
Here is the new version of MMedia with implementation of MediaInfo library from MediaArea (coded by Jérôme Martinez) so ogg_vorbis libraries are no longer necessary.
You can load it at http://mediaarea.net/ and use the installer but if you dont want to install it, just place the mediainfo dll in the plugin/Totalcommander or system directory.
(Note : use the same x32 or x64 version as MMedia)

With the Mediainfo library, you can use the two MMEXT/MP3EXT in a different ways :
MMEXT : for movies or visualization with audio files
MP3EXT : display of Mediainfo descriptions or id3tags
however, you can always switch from one to the other with the "F" key

MMedia is now able to display one image include in MP3 file as "Cover art", if multiple images are included, the front cover is chosen.

more the bug describe by nn1k3 when saving id3v1 tags was fixed.

the zip file always contains both 32 and 64-bit version of Mmedia either in the statically linked version or the dynamically linked one.
Use the plugin auto-install interface and try to install first the DL variant of this plugin. if TC display an error message then you are missing MFC9 DLL so install the statically linked version of this plugin.
