Folders are not preserved when ZIP files unpacked

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Folders are not preserved when ZIP files unpacked

Post by *mabaysal »

I don't know what version exactly started it, but I used to unpack
ZIP files by F5 (copy) utiity and entire file/folder structure in the ZIP
archive is preserved in the past.. Recently this behaviour changed and
it dumps all the files under folder, subfolders inside the ZIP file into
a single place. It duplicates folder structure too but they are empty.
I have seen the same behaviour with 7.5 but I believe this started in an earlier version.

Do you have option 'Unpack path names if stored with files' selected in unpack dialog?

Do stand-alone archivers/unpackers unpack this archive right?

Indeed 'Unpack path names if stored with files' must be checked, otherwise all files will be unpacked to the target directly. Btw, this option is enabled by default, but TC remembers its last state.
