When dragging selected files (or folders) to a path on the Address Bar (BreadCrumb).
Drag & Drop Files to path on AddressBar:
+ No Other Keys -> Files are Copied.
+ Right Click -> Files are Moved; the (+) changes to (-)
+ Shift -> Files are Copied; the (+) changes to (-)
Drag & Drop Files to path on the expanded BreadCrumb Menu dropdown:
+ No Other Keys -> Files are Copied.
+ Right Click -> Files are Moved; the (+) changes to (-)
+ Shift -> Files are Moved; the (+) changes to (-)
Note: You have to release click before the breadcrumb drop-down menu appears. If the Drop down menu appears then the noted bug above will actually do a move instead of the copy.
I played with it, and always all was correct. I have set BreadcrumbDelayButton=-400, so drop-down menu didn't appear when I drop file onto BCB, but with Shift file always was moved. Tested on WinXP Pro/SP2 with TC 7.50a.
And drag the file, Copy of Test.txt to _Apps_
Before the dropDown breadcrumb menu appears I press shift, the
(+) Cursor changes to a minus (-), release Click.
The file is copied instead of moved. I can do this consistently every time.
The file is moved when the RightClick is held down, or if shift is used and the dropDown breadcrumb appears before releasing click.
I hold Shift and drag file onto BCB - TC shows Move dialog. I move file onto BCB, hold Shift and release mouse button - TC shows Move dialog. No drop-down menu appear yet.
Maybe you release Shift before you release your mouse button? Or maybe you push Shift just after you released mouse button?
Shift must be held down when you release mouse button. Even more, Shift must be held down when TC checks if Shift is down after you released mouse button.
I narrowed it down:
* If you press shift before you get to the Address Bar then the above mentioned behaviour doesn't occur. The (+) changes to (-) and it will be a Move.
* If you press shift when the mouse pointer is on the Address Bar then the (+) changes to (-) and it will be a Copy (unless you wait for the Bread Crumb dropdown menu) -- then it will be a Move.
In all four cases, holding rightclick is always a move: Press and Hold RB
1) before reaching the Address Bar (OR)
2) before reaching the Address Bar and after dropdown menu (OR)
3) after reaching the Address Bar (OR)
4) after reaching the Address BAR and after dropdown menu.
Sorry for delay just got my PC up and running (yesterday) after its journey across the country. Have been suffering (badly) on a mac for the last few months.
