I've decided to start the poll for it because Christian asked for recomendation for image plugins which he should add to his page (I don't know why not all of them :-) ).
As a discussion about it started on Imagine thread I think it's better solution to move it here.

My opinion:

Imagine
+ Large number of supported formats
+ Convertion to large number of formats
+ Support for animations (viewing, extracting frames, converting to avi)
+ Very quick !!!
+ Possiblity of manipulating (Flipping, nagative, editing of palette, rotating)
+ Possiblity of setting image as wallpaper
+ Plugin support
- No EXIF information (already has it :-) )
- No Full Screen option (already has it :-) )
- No zoom option (already has it :-) )
+ Multilingual / Translatable (as Clo noticed ;-) )

ImageLister
+ Additional toolbar
+ Zoom
- Very slow,
- Small number of functions

SGViewer
+ Possiblity of manipulating (Flipping, nagative, editing of palette, rotating)
+ Nice Toolbar
+ Resize option
+ Full Screen option
+ Slideshow
+ Zoom
+ EXIF information
- Slower than Imagine
- No animation support
- No .ico support

So I choose Imagine and wait for some improvements when nyam will be back :-)

It's funny that you say ImagineLister is slow, because I just installed SGViewer and found *it* to be slow!

If I press Ctrl+Q (QuickView) and scroll through some images in SGViewer using the arrows on the toolbar, the images load quite fast. However, if I use the up/down arrow keys to scroll through the images (changing the image selection within TC), then the images load quite slowly. I've got quite the beefy machine, so I know it's not that.

:D Hi Djk!
Among allowed partner-programs to display pics in Lister, you forgot UniView:
http://www.andrek.wz.cz/

Its author wrote a very simplified version to use as an addon for the most used formats only, so-called Miniview... Isn't released yet, but I've it. It's so "light": 112 KB - a single EXE. Tested under Win 98 SE only, might work too with Win3.1 +Win32S :?: .
Since this program has been written following my request, I've the author's permission to release it for trials. It's a full Freeware.
Available at:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/charries/download/miniview.zip
8) Glad to hear from you about this,
:) Friendly,
Claude

I'm definitly an adept of IrfanView.... It's also not so big the exe is ~400kb.

For those who don't know, you can use the exe alone and don't need the rest to use it via TC

Not my cup of tea...

Hello! Bonsoir Alain,
Sorry, I don't like IrfanView... Personal grievance...
 The small EXE described above is much smaller than 400 KB!
Moreover, it's possible to enhance the shown formats number very easily, following the author...
 The current version of XnView has an EXE of 730 KB, but supports 393 formats (reading) plus 60 (writing). More elaborate at all...
 Uniview (normal) is in the same range, but is too a text editor!
friendly, cordialement,
Clo

SGViewer looks nicer (toolbar) but it is slow, doesn't matter on highend machines maybe but on my ancient 333MHz box I can tell that Imagine is just there when you need it and SGViewer thinks over it twice before it decides to load. File size of Imagine is smaller so better coding obviously.
Advantages of SGViewer are zoom and full screen feature, rest of the options seems relatively identical, please correct me. ;)
ImageLister is faster than SGViewer but unfortunately it doesn't have any editing features like flipping and such, only zooming.

So, for me:

1. Imagine (even faster than the great IrfanView)
2. SGViewer (needs code optimization to improve speed)
3. ImageLister (needs more options and no ugly toolbar)

I use IrfanView, it's quite alright, but could anybody suggest a plugin that shows picture size in pixels when the picture is opened? Thanks in advance.

I use both Imagine and IrfanView.

I like the speed of Imagine but I have to admit that although it's probably the fastest choice, since version 8 it has become a lot slower comparing to earlier versions. :(

That's right!
The WIP-Version 8.0.4.0 beta2 is VERY slow!
Especially when the "fit to Window"-Option is enabled.
So at the moment I use Imagine 8.0.0.0

That helped, it is much faster now, but Version 0.8.0.0 is still even faster than 0.8.4.0
