Summary 1.00 BETA 4 (content plug-in)

Summary allows you to read and write the Summary information known from Explorers' file properties dialog.

This plug-in handles summary information in the same way as Explorer does. Windows handles summary information file type specific. That means the information isn't stored in the same way for all file types. For some files the summary information is stored inside the file. For all other file types alternate file streams are used. Explorer also decides which fields are supported by a certain file type. In some cases not all fields are supported, sometimes all fields are deactivated for a certain file type. For all other file types all fields should be supported. You can find a detailed report on how Windows handels file type specific summary information in the table below. The behavior can differ if so called shell extension are installed.

Fields:

General summary information:
Title, Subject, Autor, Keywords, Comments, Category.

Music summary information:
Artist, Album, Year, Genre.

Summary 1.00 BETA 3 has been released.

The new version solves many smaller and larger problems of the previous beta versions. The plug-in should now handle all fields in the same way as Explorer does. I have also added some new fields to support audio file summary information.

If you have installed a previous beta version please uninstall it before installing this version. The old version contained a detect string to exclude some file types. This is no longer necessary.

This works fine here, too. If I leave the comment-field in the change attributes dialog blank, the id3 comment gets deleted (no spaces are inserted)... (works with id3 v1.1. and 2). Perhaps you have accidentially entered a few whitespaces in the comment-field?

I have repeated three times the operation and I'm sure (the espaces are completely removed)

Ops..., It happens viewing the mp3 with the plugin mmedia 2.46.
Visualizing the tags with XMplay and AIMP the comment is empty. (Strange)
