[Bug or not?] Cannot send apk and jar via Bluetooth

Post by *DeathStalker »

Сannot send .apk and .jar files from the context menu via Bluetooth (system does not offer). Is it possible to overcome this limitation of the system?
From the copy dialog to send via bluetooth works well.

This isn't a system limitation. The "Send to" command checks whether other apps can accept files of a certain type. In your case, you seem to have a bluetooth app installed which only allows to send certain file types. You can try with some other bluetooth app.

apk files are probably excluded because most Android phones do not accept to receive them via Bluetooth, for security reasons. Sending them e.g. to a Windows machine is no problem, so my internal BT send function does not forbid sending of apk files.

Maybe it's not asking the system what programs support "Send to" for file type APK, but for any file? But this may list also completely unsuitable programs, e.g. Picasa (which only accepts images)...

I think it is necessary first to see how it will look in the test version.
