Total Commander als Ersatz für Root Explorer ?

Hallo

Mache ich etwas falsch oder kann man mit dem TC bei einen Android mit Root rechten nicht auf das System zugreifen ?
Ich habe TC mit Superuser Root Rechte gegeben aber ich kann trotzdem nicht Dateien im System verändern.
Brauche ich trotzdem noch denn Root Explorer ?

Hi, sorry but my German is not so well to write it down.

Go to settings, and scroll completely down to "Root Everywhere" and tick that box.

Now you can switch over to Total Commander as replacement of the root explorer

BTW did you restart TC or you phone after that?

I do enjoy this masterpiece of software very well,

Das habe ich gemacht. Beim start von TC steht auch da das TC SU-Rechte gewehrt wurden.
Will ich aber eine Systemdatei verändern oder löschen wird mir das mit der Meldung Reed only verweigert.
Auch das ändern der Dateiatribute über Eigenschaften wird verweigert.
Muss der Root Explorer evtl. trotzdem installiert sein ?

I think so, I have root explorer still installed but do not use it anymore.
But I am able to copy files into the system directories.

The only person who can realy answer this question is Mr. Ghisler itself.

Maybe a stupid question: is your phone rooted?

Je mein Telefon S2 ist rooted und auch schon kräftig übertaktet. Root funktioniert also auch.
Entweder mein Telefon ist nur halb rootet (gibt es sowas ? ) oder es werden doch Treiber oder so vom Root-Explorer gebraucht der hier noch nicht installiert ist. Anders kann ich mir das z.Z. nicht erklären.
Mehr kann wohl wirklich nur Herr Ghisler dazu sagen.

It's usually a program with missing rights. Either the disk volume is mounted as read only, or the folder gives you only read only permissions (or both).

So nun hat es auch ohne den Root Explorer geklappt.
Ich bin nach dieser Anleitung vorgegangen.

1) create button with internal command - "119 Remount (requires root access)
2) remount disk in RW state.
3) change permission of file build.prop -rwxrwxrwx
4) edit file build.prop and save it
5) change permission of file build.prop -rw-r--r--

Danke für die Rückmeldung! Soll das heissen, dass der Root Explorer die Permissions automatisch vor und nach dem Speichern setzt? Soll ich das auch in den Editor einbauen?

Keine Ahnung wie das der RootExplorer macht. Die Ausgabe wollte ich mir ja mit dem TC sparen was ja nun auch geklappt hat.
Ich fände es schon gut wenn das gleich automatisch gemacht wird. Ich war eigentlich auch davon ausgegangen als ich bei TC Root eingeschaltet hatte.

For me it would be highly alarming to let an app automatically remount the /system rewritable without my control...
The solution with creating the RW-Button is the best!

It's not about re-mounting, but about the individual permissions of the edited files: Even when you re-mount /system as read/write, the files themselves may still have only the "read" permissions. The question is whether TC's editor should automatically set the "write" permissions when saving a file, and reset it back to read only afterwards.

Root Explorer does not change any rights by itself: You have to explicitly set a directory from R/O to R/W if you want to delete unwanted program crap that comes with the phone.
You then have the choice to either reset the directory back to R/O (using the same button as before) or simply exit Root Explorer again, at which point RE obviously automatically changes the rights back to R/W.
I would very much appreciate the same mechnism in TC - this is the only function of RE that I still use....

EDIT: Sorry, I just understood the previous post and thus that such a function is already included. Works great, thank you, and does exactly what I want.

Ja, root explorer macht's automatisch ebenso wie "Titanium Backup"

Hier mal ein Fallbeispiel:
Kürzlich erschien ein update von Youtube
Die APK wird im Ordner "data/app" installiert
Im Ordner "system/app" bleibt aber die alte Version bestehen
Also habe ich die alte Version gelöscht (mit gesetzten Rechten für die Datei)
Dann habe ich versucht, die neue Version zu verschieben.
Dies schlägt fehl, bis man für den Ordner "system/app" Schreibzugriff erlaubt. Dann geht's und der interne Speicher ist von ca. 2 MB befreit

Etwas Fummelei, aber besser als 6 Dollar für "Titanium Backup Pro" zu zahlen...

Könnte man dieses TUT bitte so schreiben, dass das Feld und das, was dort eingegben werden soll, klar unterscheidbar sind? Bspw.

1. Funktionstyp 'Interner Befehl' auswählen
2. Befehl '119 Neu Mounten...' auswählen

zu 3. wo liegt die Datei???
zu 4. edit file, ja und womit, bzw. wie? Was?
