[64] MRT combobox can't show non-English preset names

Post by *MVV »

Multi-rename tool's combobox with presets can't show non-English preset names.

Seems that same problem with UTF-8 like here.

Also I'll repeat rest unfixed UTF-8 listboxes:
Problem still exist for 'Specify file type' dialog that is called from 'Custom fields by file type' dialog and also for dialogs 'Expand/Shrink selection'.
Colored listbox in dialog 'Define colors by file type' also can't display non-English characters.

Problem confirmed with German "Umlaute" in 8.0 ß2 (x64). If there is an Umlaut in the preset name, it is replaced with a question mark, and the preset does not work.

Problem reproduced and confirmed.

Server 2008 R2
Total Commander 8.0 beta2 64-bit

[Addendum]

Total Commander 8.0 beta2 64-bit can even create a MRT preset and assign it a name which holds non-English characters like e.g. German umlauts, but later on the same T.C. will not be able to display the preset name correctly or load it.
Launch Total Commander 8.0 beta2 32-bit. It will be able to display the preset name correctly and load the preset.

That's because Edit window in 'save preset' dialog have no problem with encoding, but listbox/combobox that shows them has (it tries to parse names as UTF-8). Same problem was with other listboxes (partially fixed).

Hi, MVV.

Yep. Another example (fixed in beta2) is saved searches (Alt-F7). Beta1 would fail to display and use searches in case the search name held at minimum 1 single non English character. - How many more listboxes does T.C. x64 use which might suffer from the same problem?

Cheers,
Karl

I've reported about all I have found. Here and in previous topic.

If you found another ones - report them too. :)

I could reproduce and fix the problem, thanks! Unfortunately these functions are still not Unicode-enabled.
