[64] Compare by contents and 'forbidden' cursor

Post by *MVV »

If you move mouse through right and bottom bounds of both view panels of compare by contents window, you may notice 'forbidden' cursor. Also same cursor appears if I move mouse just below (its bottom border) horizontal scrollbar.

I tried to find such topic but with no luck. For some reason I thought that that topic was about it (I didn't loaded screenshot and may be read topic not to careful).

I wrote about this bug:
It seems that Lazarus shows cursor for main window - as if scrollbar have too small width and there is a gap between window contents and scrollbar. You may try to hide cursor for main window, you don't need it there - all window is covered by child windows! :)
I think it won't be so noticeable if you set another cursor for compare by contents form.

I don't get the forbidden cursor anywhere in beta 2 any more. I got it in beta 1, but only above the tabs, not in the lists. What theme do you use?

As you see on screenshot, this is classic Windows style. There is 2-pixel vertical gap at the left of vertical scrollbars and 1-pixel horizontal gaps above and below horizontal scrollbars.

But I just now checked with Aero (in VirtualBox) and see same gaps (but vertical gap is now 1-pixel width).

I'm using exactly Beta2.

Hello, MVV, hello, Christian.

I can reproduce the behaviour illustrated in your screenshot, MVV. Same here. The "forbidden" icon appears if the mouse pointer is really close to the edges of the vertical and the horizontal scrollbars.

Server 2008 R2, classic theme
Total Commander 8.0 beta2 64-bit
--
Windows 2003 Std SP2, 64-bit, classic theme
Total Commander 8.0 beta2 64-bit

Kind regards,
Karl

I'm sorry, I can't reproduce this problem, neither with classic theme nor AeroGlass. Maybe it's a problem specific to Windows Server? 2MVV
Did you try this on Windows server?

I can confirm it too. TC8b2-x64 on Win7x64 with classic theme. Actually the scrollbars are not required. Forbidden icon appears left to the vertical center margin and close to the bottom horizontal margin of an empty Compare contents dialog.

Yes, even if e.g. horizontal scrollbar is not visible, horizontal gap is still exist. But if scrollbar is visible, there are two gaps.
