[8.0ß23 both] Closing a breadcrumb bar after using keyboard

Post by *umbra »

When you open a breadcrumb bar and navigate in it for a while with a keyboard, in some cases you cannot close it with mouse anymore.

In this video you can see, how to reproduce it.
My steps:
1. Open a breadcrumb bar with mouse and don't use it anymore.
2. Use arrows to open a subfolder in a subfolder.
3. Use left arrow to step out of the sub-subfolder.
4. Move mouse out of the breadcrumb menu without going over "hot" zones (the ones, that open subfolders) or changing a selected item.
5. Try to click somewhere in TC to close the menu. First time, there is absolutely no reaction, but the following clicks will cause a "ding" sound.
6. Move mouse over the menu to change selected item and everything works again.

I think that this is some kind of protection to avoid that moving the mouse while using the keyboard to navigate would close the breadcrumb bar. Just press ESC to close it when navigating with the keyboard.

Maybe, but in that case it's faulty. This error manifests itself only if the last pressed key is the left arrow to return to a previous menu level.

edit:
Not entirely true. See next post.

Looks like the issue with closing the breadcrumb bar is not the only one caused by using a keyboard. For example in this video, you can see that you can't open submenus just by pointing at the arrows - you have to move the mouse pointer inside the "subfolder zone". However, if you move it too slow or too fast, nothing happens.

Also the key seems to be using a keyboard and then switching to a mouse without closing too many submenus. Sorry I can't be more specific, just try to reproduce my moves from the video.

I wonder - is there anyone who can confirm this issue?
