[8.0RC1 x64] FTP connection window doesn't close

Post by *Gerby »

Hi!

There's a problem when trying to establish a new FTP connection in 8.0RC1 x64 (here under Windows 7 x64) and the IP address cannot be found.

Do the following:
  1. Initiate a new FTP connection, e.g. by pressing [Ctrl]-[N].
  2. Enter a non-existent URL, e.g. ptf.asdfjkl.xy.
  3. Click OK or press the Enter key to start the connection attempt.
After a few seconds the error message "IP Address not found!" occurs.
  4. Click OK or press the Enter key.
Expected action:
The Connect window disappears together with the error message.

Actual symptom:
The Connect window is still showing. You can click on the Abort button, but then it only changes to a Close button. If you click on the Close button, nothing happens. The Connect window even cannot be closed by the window's close button nor by any other regular close action. Only possible action: kill TC with the Task Manager (or Process Explorer here 8) ).

This problem is new to RC1 x64. It did not occur in ß25 x64. Furthermore, the 32-bit versions are not affected.

Greetings

Yes, RC2 doesn't have the problem anymore. Thanks for the fix.
