total commander for mac osx
Good afternoon, I understood that it was not possible when TC was only on win 9.x/xp/7/8/ce but now it is available on adroid. Android is linux. Mac osx is unix like (bsd/darwin..). It is not far away from linux platfom. On mac osx is not good file manager. Please make TC on OSX.

Unfortunately it's not the same - Android is a huge Java-style framework on top of Linux with lots of classes.
Furthermore, the Android version is very simple, with much less functions than TZ for Windows. There are quite a few more advanced Commander-style programs for MacOS available:
- Midnight Commander (command line tool)
- muCommander: http://www.mucommander.com/
- Disk Order: http://www.likemac.ru/english/
- Fork Lift: http://www.binarynights.com/
- PathFinder: http://www.cocoatech.com/

I know that actual version of TC is not easy port to osx, but what about taking old source code for example 16 bit earliest version of "windows commander", that is not written in delphi, but pascal ?

you mentioned some file managers for osx, but they are very bad with comparison to TC. I want only old school NC like 2 window file manager (volkov commander ..) with basic work with files - functions like f5,f6,f7 ...
delphi is still alive

did you realize that you are creator of world most famous delphi app ?
platform osx and iOS would not be ignored in the future if only from your business income view ..

Yes, I'm aware of Delphi XE versions with MacOS support. The problem is that I'm calling a LOT of Windows functions directly, some of which is just necessary to make TC behave as it does now. Just a small example: With normal Delphi programs, when you minimize the main form, all others are minimized too. So translated to TC , when you minimize the file manager, all Lister windows would be minimized too. This required a few hacks to the internals of the Delphi library (same problem with Lazarus). There are actually thousands of such hacks now - as you may know, the last 1% takes 99% of the time, but this last percent makes the difference between a mediocre and a good program.

Yes indeed - and you never know when Apple starts to block all non-store programs as on the iPhone.

Now, there is:
FASTCOMMANDER.COM
Just download and install. You must allow non-appstore software. This will be fixed in future version with Apple developer certificate.

Crax is indeed cloning TC and is suceeding for the most part. It has plenty of TC features and looks. I hope the author will continue to add and complete it.
I'm still missing the "Brief" mode (multi-column) for file listing and the display of file details (date, time, attribs, perms) in the status bar. Currently it only displays file in one column, and the status bar shows only the path and free space.
Other than that, it's a primissing clone.
