+[8.50b1] cm_SearchStandalone (ALT+SHIFT+F7)

Post by *tuska »

Hi,
alt+shift+F7 - search for text - Office-xml is ticked.
If you make a new search, Office-xml is un-ticked and you have to tick again.
alt+F7: If you make a new search, Office-xml is ticked (as before).

BTW:
writing-height (Schriftgröße) is different between windows alt+F7 and ALT+SHIFT+F7.
Why? My personal preference would be like as alt+F7 (is like before).

Kind regards,
Karl

Hi,
I am very sorry, but I cannot reproduce this constellation anymore.

So only the question regarding writing-height is open for me.

Thanks.
Gruß,
Karl

Did you use /i= parameter to set a different ini file? This isn't yet passed to standalone search. It will be supported in the next beta.

No, I only installed 8.50b1 over 8.01.
In wincmd.ini I have UseIniInProgramDir=7 for portabel use.
Will see what happens in the office...

In the office I use a portable version too.
I have assigned shortcut Shift+S too.

- I have called SearchStandalone three or four times.
In the field below "Find Text" on the right side all was ticked, e.g.
from ANSI charset (Windows) to Office xml
- After search (Find Text) only the point ANSI charset (Windows) was ticked
- TC closed and restarted
- Everything was fine.

Next try in the office:
- Additionally I have ticked "Whole words only" and made Search Find Text.
- After search I called a new search and un-ticked "Whole words only"
- Then I have called SearchStandalone again and "Whole words only" was ticked.
- I made several new SearchStandalone but it was not possible to get an un-ticked "Whole words only" in the office.

Next try at home:
First I changed the language from german to english.
After SearchStandalone and Cancel-Button, "Whole words only"
is automatically unticked.

At home I think I have found a litte difference between
SearchFor and SearchStandalone:

Alt+F7 > Find text > "Whole words only" ticked > Start Search, Cancel.
Alt+F7: "Whole words only" is ticked (as long as I untick it).

Alt+Shift+F7 > Find text > "Whole words only" ticked > Start Search, Cancel.
Alt+Shift+F7: "Whole words only" is automatically unticked.

I wonder If I could untick "Whole words only" in the office tomorrow.

After restart of PC in the office "Whole words only" was unticked.
SearchStandalone is working as expected.

But if I close TC and open it again "Whole words only" is ticked again and I cannot get rid of it. Perhaps I should restart PC again...

Kind regards,
Karl

Please try again with beta 2. It will save the state of these checkboxes when closing the search dialog, not only when closing Total Commander.

8.50b2

Post by *tuska »

Thank you for immediate bug-fix!

The repeated examination in [8.50b2] showed results as I expected
for each of the searches Alt+F7 and especially for Alt+Shift+F7.

I have found only another little difference:
In general I can see the boxes ticked as from the last search in a new search.

I did the following (1. and 2.) ...

1. SearchStandalone ... "Whole words only", "Office xml..." unticked | Start Search | Search finished => Cancel
(according to the last/previous call)

2. SearchFor ... "Whole words only", "Office xml..." is ticked
(according to the last/previous call)

I don't know if this is by design, if yes then I think this thread could be "closed".

Maybe if someone would choose SearchStandalone first and afterwords SearchFor (or vice versa) he would expect in SearchFor (2.) the same boxes unticked as in previous search (SearchStandalone 1.)).

Kind Regards,
Karl

The search options within TC are only loaded when starting TC. So changing them im the standalone search has no effect.
