"everything search" makes TC hang on many selected

i have a directory, containing lets say 2000 subdirs.

- select them all
- do a search with everything activated

it takes really a long time to finish the search (hard drive, might be not bad on SSD), TC completely hangs during this time.
and it isn't faster when i repeat a search, unlike the standard search (probably cached). so a repeated everything search is a lot slower than standard search.

my guess is that TC calls everything for each single directory.
this might be an expected behavior. but it should be visible for the user TC is still working, like it is in standard search (status bar).

Beta 2 will allow to abort Everything.

but it isn't easy to tell whether everything is even used now, the directories get enumerated now just like in the standard search.

It depends on what you search: If there are few results it will be MUCH faster. Example: search for shell32 in the root of c:. Takes 1-2 seconds for 210 results here.

If there are many 1000s of results, it takes much longer because TC has to get the file details for every result separately. That's why I hope for the Everything beta, which should provide these details directly.
