automatically start paused copy when previous copy is done

Post by *wakatana »

Hello. Is it possible to start several copying (using F5) then pause them and add them to some list. So if 1st copy is done then 2nd will continue, if 2nd is done 3rd will continue etc.? I would also like to automatically answer questions (if there are any) and start copying (to prevent that e.g. 2nd item in list will wait for user input and thus nothing will be ever copied). Thanks

Just use F5, set the options you want (regarding replacing, overwriting, renaming files etc) and then press F2 to send the copy process to the BTM (background transfer manager). TC will still require user input if there's long paths (259+ chars), unreadable files and so on; some of them can be turned off via settings in wincmd.ini (there are a lot of topics in the forums about them).

Thanks. If I understand correct then using "Background Transfer Manager" is not possible with transfers that are already running, or am I wrong?

That's right. Is not possible to integrate a new copy process (using F2) to a 'regular' transfer is already running.

But... it would be a nice suggestion for a forthcoming version of TC.

It happened to me a lot of times when I needed that one! :)
