button bar parameters for extractnow.com

Post by *markthepig »

Hello there

Im using http://www.extractnow.com/ to extract archives since it allows to extract (queue) and delete after successful extraction.Ive set it up as a toolbar button.I can not belive total commander 9 does not support queue archive extraction.
im using it with "%N" /target "%T" -minimize parameters.
I want to send multiple fine names as parameters. %N send only the filename under the cursor. Are any other parameters that do that?.
Double commander for example sends as parameters files selected by user (with insert or space bar) not only the filename under the cursor. It also support queue archive extraction. the only downsize it crashes a lot if you do a lot of file operations, but what can you expect for a free software.
i bought total commander some time a go but i see other file managers (free ones) have more features. But anyway, any solution to my problem please?
how about setting a Hotkey for button ? (dc has that as well).

Thank you.

Hi markthepig,
I want to send multiple fine names as parameters. %N send only the filename under the cursor. Are any other parameters that do that?
Click Help.
how about setting a Hotkey for button ?
Configuration - Options - Misc. You can define the same command for any hotkey as for a button.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

- Open one button like to modify them.
- Then press F1 key on keyboard to see all possible parameters.

It depends on the supported command line parameters of 'that' tool which TC parameter may work for you.

See help file for full list of command and parameters.
"Dialog box: Configuration - Change button bar"
(press F1 or click help while edit/create button)
It's impossible to lead us astray for we don't care even to choose the way.

thank you guys (i found out that %P%S did the trick), so i have now
%P%S /target "%T" -minimize as parameters. Still i could not associate hotkey with this toolbar button. Will look more.
Thank you for the quick replay.

Create user command and assign keyboard shortcut

You can assign shortcuts to commands, not to buttons.
So first create a user command with the settings of your button.
Next assign a shortcut to that user command.

To create own user commands; use one of this two ways
Add shortcut key to em_ or cm_ commands

%S - read the help...

Not directly - but you can make a userdefined command (an em_command) and assign a hotkey to that and use the em_command in the button as well. To make a userdefined command run cm_CommandBrowser scroll down to: usercmd.ini and click "New"

You assign hotkeys at "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Misc."

Code: Select all

but i see other file managers (free ones) have more features
Not likely, but the features are perhaps more user friendly to find.

yes i did ( first i was searching on the net and found out a page with less parameters) . My bad for not looking up F1 Help.

This last part guided me on the right path. This feature was more friendly to find on other commanders.

Thank you again
