Unzip 7z file, ‘Background’ button missing

Post by *Adams »

Tested on both TC8.52a and TC9RC6 (x64).

Pressing ‘Alt + F9’ to unzip a 7z file, it looks like the ‘Background’ button is missing.

Sorry, NOT confirmed.
Using TC9RC6 (32 and 64 bit) on Win7 x64.
I can switch from background to foreground and vice versa during unpacking.

Are you really sure, that this are 7z files?
Do you unzip from/to local harddisk or external drives?

It depends on the installed 7zip plugin.
1. No plugin installed -> background should work.
2. Plugin installed -> please let me know which one.

I tested this again on a virtual PC, which runs Win7. I made fresh installations for both TC9RC6(x64) and 7zip. No plugin installed.

I made a 7z file and a zip file by using 7zip. Unpacking the zip file, the ‘Background’ button was there, and worked all right. But unpacking the 7z file, still no ‘Background’ button was shown.

Ah, sorry, you are right - the internal 7zip unpacker does not support background operation. I had total7zip installed, which does support it. I will consider adding it to a future version of TC.
